The waning crescent moon will not be much of a problem this year. Bonus, you you don't have to wake up early for this one! The radiant point is highest in the sky just as darkness falls.
The cause of this shower – Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner – was at perihelion in March of this year. Will we finally see a storm of Draconid meteors this year? Yes please!
The radiant point for the Draconid meteor shower almost coincides with the head of the constellation Draco the Dragon in the northern sky. That’s why you can view the Draconids best from the Northern Hemisphere (and early in the Evening.)
