Metaxy is a new immersive dance performance loosely inspired by Nietzsche’s The Birth of Tragedy, set to music selected and mixed live by Berghain resident DJ Norman Nodge. It follows a central figure caught between two opposing forces: the Apollonian world of order, discipline and ambition, and the Dionysian world of emotion, desire and freedom. Through contemporary dance, electronic music, light and special effects, these forces collide, unravel and ultimately search for a state of balance.
Alongside the performance, Metaxy will also feature an immersive exhibition, extending the world of the piece beyond the choreography and inviting audiences to experience the space before and after the performance.
